Things I've Learned...
Or Want To Learn
- Happiness is a choice.
- Attitude is a choice.
- I want to be the person....my dog thinks I am.
- No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.
- No decision is a decision.
- LOVE is the ability and willingness to allow those whom you care for
to be who they want to be, without having to satisfy you.
- Courage is how far you bounce after you hit bottom.
- Clarity always follows pain.
- Pain is wisdom in disguise.
- It is better to be alone, than to wish you were alone.
- Forgiving is not for them; it is for you.
- You train others how to treat you by how you treat yourself.
- Courage is going from failure to failure without losing your enthusiasm.
- This, too, shall pass.
- Whatever were your results, were your intentions.
- Goals are dreams... with deadlines.
- That which you resist contains within it your greatest opportunity for growth.
- HEALTH is when your past is no longer screwing up your present.
- It is more important to be kind than to be right.
- Blame is really : “bla - me.”
- Intimacy is really: “into - me - see.”
- Find someone good at loving you.
- Find someone already happy.
- Never buy your sweetheart exercise equipment on their birthday.
- We cannot change people, only our reaction to them.
- A better word for mistake > "lesson."
- Even better > "learning opportunity."
- Better word for failure > "feedback."
- A lesson is repeated until learned.
- We cannot love or hate something about another person unless it reflects something we love or hate about ourselves.
- Welcome frustration --- it is a gift that says we need to change something.
- 2 quickest ways to get rid of the “yukkies”:
1. Do something nice for someone less fortunate.
2. Be grateful.
A few others:
- Dance like no one is watching.
- Wave at children on a school bus.
- Keep your promises.
- Instead of “no problem,” say “you’re welcome, or happy to!”
- Once in a while, pay the highway toll for the person behind you.
- Overtip breakfast waitresses.
- When you feel terrific, notify your face.
- Be the first to smile at strangers.
- Borrow a box of puppies and take them to visit a nursing home.
- Let cars in in traffic.
- Hide a love-note for your child or spouse to read.
- Take a night class in something.
- Plant flowers. And smell them.
- Forgive someone who doesn’t deserve it.
- Every once in a while, take the scenic route.
- Wear wild, shocking, audacious underwear under dark, serious suits.
- At the grocery check-out, allow the person behind you to go first.
- Get lost in a bookstore.
- Always have a motivational tape in your car.
- Tape record your parents’ or children’s laughter.
- Put your photos in an album.
- Watch a sunset.
- Watch a sunrise.
- Every so often, let your adventure spirit triumph over your good sense.
- Start and end your day with music.
- In between reserve some quiet time.
- Love someone who doesn’t deserve it.
- Buy a bird feeder.
- Take a bubble bath by candlelight.
- Count your blessings.
- Giving is receiving.
